These are the same lights that have become popular in Christmas lights, flashlights and now for home use. LED lights have a very long life (home lamps are said to last for as long as twenty years) and produce a high quality white light. They do not have the color gaps that florescent lamps have. When added to a television, this literally means that the set can now show every color of the rainbow.
LED lamps consume less energy than their florescent counterparts. The lower energy usage will eventually make a difference in the total amount of energy consumed by our country.
LED televisions can be made much thinner than any other television. This will make them even more light weight and allow them to be hung on the walls of your home. They will not need a television stand that takes up room. The additional floor space may be perfect to install home theatre seating for the new set.
LED televisions allow you to have large screens without the size of projection televisions. Their clear pictures are great for football games or movies as well as regular television viewing.
Know how to read television reviews? Numerical ratings mean little without the actual reviews. See why people make the ratings that they make. Beware of people that give good ratings when they do not like a product. You can find extremely important information by reading the rating in full.
On the other hand, there are also people who believe that they should never give anything a perfect score. They look for a reason to lower their score. Be sure that you also read their report to see why the product was scored lower than by other people.
Always take time to actually view a television before purchase. Even if you purchase online, visit a showroom to see the product in action. Then you can know if it is the right product for you.
